GTA fans, if you were in search of a title resembling the hit franchise, you have your wish granted. Now in early access is City of Outlaws, which draws inspiration from the GTA series, and players from Thailand and Indonesia can get their hands on the title.
City of Outlaws ticks the right boxes for a fun gangster gameplay
Step into the thrilling world of City of Outlaws, where a gangster open-world RPG awaits on mobile devices. Much like the acclaimed GTA series, this game offers a richly immersive experience with intense gunfights, challenging missions, and an expansive open world to explore. The starting cutscene is very inspired by your GTA or San Andreas games, even with the voiceovers being in a similar tone.
If you ask me, the gameplay looks pretty smooth. The graphics are quite nice, doesn’t seem to be a straight-up copy-pasta from your other games in the genre. You can create your character, which you can customize the way you like. There is a plot in the game, whenever there is an interactive element you can see the voiceovers kicking in. The controls look decent, and I see the makers have done a great job of getting this game live for mobile devices.
You can engage in PvP battles with real players, strategize with friends, and unleash advanced firepower to dominate the streets. The game also features a variety of gameplay styles, from infiltrating enemy warehouses to engaging in high-speed pursuits with customizable vehicles reminiscent of GTA’s car customization features.
City of Outlaws early access version is available ahead of release
Sadly, the availability regions for City of Outlaws might lower your excitement since the early access is for Indonesia and Thailand only, via Android. Still, I see this game surely hitting global, given how impressive this title looks. Keep an eye on this space for iOS and global release announcements.
With this, I see there is now competition in the gangster genre. I wrote about NEWRP, which expands to NEW Role Play and VibeCity, where both are yet to come out as a full launch, whereas the highly awaited titles such as Mayanagari and Gameloft Gangstar New York look to be topping charts. But we will only be getting the final picture once all of them get a full-fledged release.
